AstraZeneca has launched its second generic competition in the US, following the introduction of a cheaper alternative, AstraZeneca's 'Esomeprazole' (Ozempic).

Esomeprazole, a once-daily tablet of the drug that combines Esomeprazole Magnesium and Nexium, is the second generics medicine to be launched in the US. It's the first of these so-called "repetitive generics" to be launched in the US.

The 'Esomeprazole' generic competition, launched in the US in July, opens the gap for AstraZeneca for the first time and thus provides AstraZeneca with the first generic competitor in the US. The competition is a significant loss for AstraZeneca.

"We are pleased to be able to launch this innovative medicine," said David Brinkley, Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca.

The new launch will be the first generic competition of the 'Esomeprazole' drug with an equivalent dose of the drug in Europe.

"We are pleased to be able to launch this innovative medicine," said AstraZeneca's Brinkley.

The second-biggest generic competition is AstraZeneca's Nexium. AstraZeneca is the first pharmaceutical company to launch a generic product in the US.

"We are very pleased to be able to launch this innovative medicine," Brinkley said.

The new launch is an important victory for AstraZeneca and will help to ensure that the 'Esomeprazole' drug is in the market for the first time, Brinkley said.

"We believe that our launch of this innovative medicine will help to ensure that the 'Esomeprazole' drug is in the market for the first time," Brinkley added.

In the US, AstraZeneca launched its second-biggest prescription medicine, Nexium, in November 2018. The drug, which is called Nexium, has been in the US market for over two years and is the 12th most commonly prescribed medicine in the US.

Nexium, which AstraZeneca markets in the US, was launched in Europe in July. The brand was launched in the UK in August.

AstraZeneca has also launched its own generic competition, in December.

"We are very pleased to be able to launch this innovative medicine," Brinkley added.

The US launch of the 'Esomeprazole' generic competition, which launched in the US on July 25, represents an important victory for AstraZeneca.

The US launch of the 'Esomeprazole' generic competition, which launched in the US on October 4, represents an important victory for AstraZeneca.

The launch of Nexium, the most commonly prescribed medicine in the US, marks another important victory for AstraZeneca.

"This is an important step forward for AstraZeneca," Brinkley added.
